btw little question, from observing i think its good to use the full range from pure white to pure black in a piece at all times, i rarely see a picture thats somewhere in the grays only. is that true?
Oh yeah I guess it does haha, I've watched a lot of his videos so I guess his style kinda rubbed off on me a bit lol, but I still try to create my own style from what I learn xD

Well, usually you don't want to go pure white or pure black because it takes away from the seemingly natural values you put into your image, in this one I kinda got too close to pure black on the top image, but meh, that's why it's practice haha. However, you don't want to stay just in the grays because you also want to have a nice value shift in your images, just be careful not to get too close to those pure colors...unless you are creating an image that absolutely calls for it. I hope that helped!
I've actually been thinking about doing that. Maybe with like YouTube videos or something, but I have to find a good video capture software If I ever do decide to do that, I'll let everyone know
